Liberation Day Celebration Ceremony Program

  • Part 1 (5:00 PM) – Opening Ceremony:
    Hansamo Pungmul (Korean traditional percussion) performance, Katouri Korean Dance Cmpany performance
  • Part 2 (5:30 PM) – Main Ceremony:
    National ceremony (flag salute, anthem, etc.), President’s congratulatory address, welcoming remarks, congratulatory speeches, singing of the Liberation Day song, three cheers for independence (ManSe SamChang), commemorative performance
  • Part 3 (6:30 PM) – Celebration Performance (Performing Arts Group)
  • Part 4 Banquet (City Hall North Light Court)

Event Preparation

  • Selection of vehicle rental and driving managers (2 vehicles for Silicon Valley, 1 for Sacramento, 1 for San Ramon, and 1 for the performance team).
  • Venue guidance and souvenir distribution
  • Dinner reception management
  • Preliminary and side events (committee launch, performer welcome, farewell and closing ceremonies)
  • Celebration ceremony and performances (distribution of flags, fans, balloons, and coordination of performer activities)

Fundraising for the event

Publication of Promotion and Sponsorship Booklet for the Celebration Ceremony

Promotion and Invitation for the Celebration Ceremony

  • Invitation of approximately 600 guests, including patriots, independence activists’ families, key figures, religious leaders, representatives from various sectors, and citizens

Opening Ceremony Performers

San Ramon Hansamo Pungmul Performance (Representative: Yeon Su Oh)

– The San Francisco Bay Area Korean nonprofit organization consists of middle and high school students and their parents dedicated to promoting the excellence of the Korean language and traditional culture.
They actively showcase Korean traditional culture through community performances.

Katuri Korean Dance Company (Director: Ok Ja Kim)
– Founded in 2023, this senior Korean traditional dance troupe actively promotes the beauty of Korean dance within the mainstream community through various invited performances.

Main Ceremony (National Ceremony & Celebratory Song) Performers

The Pacific Choir (Music Director: Hyun Jung Choi)
– Founded in 2010 in San Francisco, this youth choir has been actively performing throughout the Bay Area. Through a wide range of choral music genres, they continue to inspire and move audiences.

Bass-Baritone Jong Won Han
– Jong Won Han is a graduate of Seoul National University and holds a master’s degree in opera from the Mannes School of Music. He is currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at the Juilliard School and is an active Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera.

He has received the Special Prize at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and has been a prizewinner in several international competitions. Han has performed with leading U.S. opera companies, including San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Atlanta Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Cincinnati Opera, and Dayton Opera.

His collaborations include performances with renowned conductors such as Eun Sun Kim, Gum Nanse, Plácido Domingo, and Carlo Montanà.

Soprano Hannah Cho

– A graduate of Seoul Arts High School and Seoul National University, Hannah Cho earned both her Master’s and Professional Studies degrees from the Mannes School of Music in New York. She has won numerous prestigious competitions, including First Prize at the Saeil Art Song Competition, First Prize and Best Duo at the German Lied Society Competition, and an Excellence Award from the Korea National Opera Competition. She was also selected as a Young Artist by the Kumho Cultural Foundation.

In 2024, she was invited to the “Rising Artists Showcase” in New York and continues to build a vibrant career in both opera and concert stages across the United States. In Korea, she has appeared as a soloist with Seoul National University, the Korea National Opera, JTBC Gala Concert, KBS Competition Winners’ Gala, and the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra.

Hanejong K-ART Performing Troupe (Artistic Director of Dance: Professor Sam Jin Kim)

– Comprised of current students and alumni of Korea National University of Arts—Korea’s premier institution for artistic excellence—this 40-member ensemble presents the pinnacle of K-ART, featuring Korean traditional dance, ballet, and contemporary dance.

ART TAEKWONDO Performance Team (Director: Sung Young Park)

– A professional taekwondo performance team that includes former members of Korea’s national demonstration team. Actively performing across North America, the team was invited to deliver a spectacular performance during a 2024 Golden State Warriors game in San Francisco.

Chef Hyun Soo Yoo (Tony Yoo, Advisor)

– Chef Hyun Soo Yoo, also known as Tony Yoo, is a leading figure in modern Korean cuisine. Widely recognized for his appearances on popular culinary programs such as Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, he is celebrated for both his exceptional cooking skills and engaging personality. He will serve as the culinary advisor for the Liberation Day Celebration dinner.
