Dear Members of the Korean-American Community Center:
It is a great honor to congratulate Dr. Jonathan Kim on his election as the 32nd President of the Korean-American Community Center of the San Francisco Bay Area.
I cannot think of a better person than Dr. Kim to give this organization the prestige and honor it deserves as its President.
Dr. Kim has served the Korean-American community faithfully and loyally. He is well-known, well-respected, and well-loved in the San Francisco communities. I, along with Judge Lillian Sing and the “Comfort Women” Justice Coalition have worked closely with Dr. Kim and Soon Ran Kim on the “Comfort Women issues and led anti-Asian hate demonstrations to bring awareness to the broader community. Through our close alliance, I am proud to say we are not just close friends, but part of the larger Asian-American family.
I pledge my support to support Dr. Kim in his capacity as President. I have no doubt he will fulfill every single one of his pledges to the Community Center and empower the Korean-American community socially, economically, and politically bringing the community to a new level of transparency and progress that are much needed.
Needless to say, Dr. Kim’s leadership in the Korean -American Community Center will continue to solidify the relationship among all Asian-American Communities fighting for racial and gender justice in the US and throughout the world.
Yours truly,
Judge Julie Tang, Ret’d,
Co-chair, “Comfort Women” Justice Coalition
